ALTA Refrigeration, Inc
Peachtree City, Georgia
Owned and operated by ALTA Refrigeration of Peachtree City, GA, this project utilized local labor and materials while taking advantage of State and Federal Incentives. The system consists of 420 modules that feature Suniva PV cells manufactured in Norcross, GA. The racking system was designed and manufactured by Michigan based Applied Energy Technologies, which was started by a group of former auto industry engineers. In all over 30 people were employed in the installation that will provide over 50% of ALTA's power needs for the next 25-40 years.
Over the course of the year, the 98.7kW system will produce an estimated 127 megawatt hours of electricity every year, the equivalent of taking 16 cars off the road, or planting 25 acres of trees every year. The system will also save the state over 76,000 gallons of water per year that are used in the conventional elecricity generation process.
